Gaspër Pali, lyric poet, passed away. He was born in Shkodër, in 1916. He attended high school in his hometown. He studied literature at the University of Florence (1940). Worked as a teacher. He took his first literary steps from the end of the 30s of the 20th century, collaborating with the magazines “Rilindja” (Korçë), “Cirka” (Shkodër), etc. He wrote mainly poems, in which the contemplative tendency, a light melancholic spirit, and the original lyricism stand out. The longing for the homeland, the pure and timid love, the dream of a happiness that cannot be achieved, are the main motives of Gaspër Pal’s poetry, in which sometimes a slight note of dissatisfaction with the reality of the time is felt. He left many poems in manuscript. The most valuable part of his poetic creations was summarized in the volume “Hyjt mbi greminë” (1959). (In the photo: Gaspër Pali)
