Lefter Talo (1912-1944), participant of the Anti-Fascist National Liberation War, Hero of the People, was killed in the war against the Nazi German forces in Margëlliç of Patos. He was born in Hadër Aga (today “Lefter Talo” village) of Saranda. He embraced the communist ideas when he attended high school in Gjirokastër. He worked as a teacher in the villages of Gjirokastra and opposed Ahmet Zogu’s regime. As an opponent of the fascist occupation of Albania, he was arrested and imprisoned (1942). Member of the Albanian Communist Party, in 1942. He participated in the organization of the illegal anti-fascist movement (1943). He was assigned to the VI Assault Brigade.
