On April 15, 1933 , in the city of Gostivar, in Macedonia, Myrteza Bajraktari, political activist and teacher, was born. He completed his secondary education in Tetova and Skopje. In 1952, he began studying philosophy at the University of Skopje, where he created the nationalist organization “Shkëndija”. He was arrested on January 12, 1953 and, after inhumane torture in the interrogation rooms, he was sentenced to 7 years of imprisonment. He served his sentence in Idrizova prison, in Skopje. After his release, in 1962, he moved to Albania. After months of investigation, he was interned in the Seman camp for more than four years. In 1966 he was granted the right to study: he graduated from the Faculty of Language and Literature at the University of Tirana (1970). He was appointed to the Institute of History and Linguistics, but with the intervention of the Security, he was transferred to the district of Berat, which he did not accept. He was arrested on November 12, 1970 and on June 28, 1971, the District Court of Tirana sentenced him to 3 years of imprisonment for “agitation and propaganda against the People’s Republic of Albania”. After his release, he was denied the right to exercise the teaching profession and was forced to do some of the hardest jobs. In July 1990, he created the illegal group “Fronti Antikomunist Tanshqiptar”. In January 1993, he was appointed consul of Albania in the Swiss Confederation.
