The XXVII Assault Brigade of the Albanian National Liberation Army was established in the city of Shkodra. It was created by the partisans of the partisan group of Shkodra, by the participants of the guerilla units of the city, by the partisan units that operated in the region of Shkodra, in Mirdita, Pukë, Lezhë and Zadrimë and with volunteers from the villages and the city. On the day of formation, there was a total of 1200 people. Immediately after the formation, it was ordered to cross the state border to liberate Tivar and the entire region of Kraja in Montenegro. On 30.11.1944 the XXVII Assault Brigade started to march and, after traveling at a speed of 48 km, reached the city of Tivar. Then, in cooperation with the Yugoslav partisan forces and those of the VI Assault Brigade of the Albanian National Liberation Army, it was assigned to take part in the siege of the German forces occupying Podgorica and to liberate it. On December 5, it returned to the city of Shkodra. The brigade was led by the headquarters with commander Sadik Bektesh. (In the photo: Partisans of the XXVII Brigade.)
