A demonstration against the communist regime took place in the city of Shkodra. Among other things, in this demonstration, the bust of the dictator that was located in the center of this city was toppled. It turns out that this bust is the first to be removed from the pedestals of Albanian cities. For the event of December 13, 78 people were detained, of which 42 were arrested. By December 24, 1990, 50 people were sent to trial. The slogans raised in this demonstration were: “Freedom, democracy!”, and then with the slogans “Enver-Hitler”, “Down with Enver Hoxha!”, “Down with violence!”, “Long live America!”, “Down with the police” , “The army is with us!”, “This power has ended” etc. (In the photo: The ALP Committee building in Shkodër and the bust of Enver Hoxha.)
