Kozma Lara, composer, “Merited Artist”, professor, passed away. He was born in Durrës, on January 4, 1930. He finished the artistic high school “Jordan Misja”, graduating in the piano branch. In the years 1959-1961, he studied composition at the “P.I. Tchaikovsky” conservatory in Moscow, which he continued and finished at the Tirana State Conservatory, being at the same time one of the first lecturers and author of texts. Kozma Lara’s creative activity began in the 60s of the 20th century and spans across almost all genres and forms of music, including vocal music, chamber music, symphonic, concert, and stage music. He dedicated a good part of his creativity to piano music, as the author of several albums of one-of-a-kind pieces, sonatas and concerts for piano and orchestra, orchestral suites, trios, rhapsodes, etc. Kozma Lara is co-founder and leader of the musical association “Tonin Harapi”, within which he organized the Albanian romance festival and published some of the most representative works of the genre.
