Bardhok Biba

Bardhok Biba (1920–1949) was born in the village of Bulshar in Oroshi (Mirditë). Participant of the Anti-fascist National Liberation War, political activist and state functionary in the first years after liberation, Hero of the People. He finished the state high school in Shkodër, where he embraced communist ideas and became active against the monarchist government of Zog. Member of the Albanian Communist Party in October 1943, partisan in the Pukë- Mirdita detachment (1943), political commissar in the Buna partisan detachment and then in the Dukagjin and Pukë-Mirdita detachments (1944). After liberation, he was entrusted with important party and state duties in the district of Mirdita: as commissar of the country command and secretary of the National Liberation Council of the District (1945–1946), chairman of the Executive Committee of the People’s Council of the District (1948), political secretary of the District Party Committee (1949). He was a deputy in the People’s Assembly. He worked for the recovery of the country. He was killed in 1949, in the Valmir Pass in the Kaçinar area of Mirdita, by anti-government armed groups.
