Injac Zamputi was born in Shkodër, historian and Latinist, longtime scientific collaborator. He completed his university studies in Trieste, where his diploma topic was “Venediku dhe Shqipëria në shekullin XVIII” (“Venice and Albania in the 18th century”). He worked as a teacher in Shkodër. After the war, he was transferred to the gymnasium of Gjirokastra. With the establishment of the Institute of Sciences in Tirana, he was appointed as a scientific worker in the sector of Medieval history and continued in this role at the Institute of History. He has translated and transcribed from medieval Latin and Italian historical documents published by the Institute of History in the series “Burime të zgjedhura për historinë e Shqipërisë” (“Selected sources for the history of Albania”) (1962), as well as “Relacione mbi gjendjen e Shqipërisë Veriore e të Mesme në shekullin XVII” (“Reports on the situation of Northern and Central Albania in the 17th century”) in several volumes (Tirana, 1963, 1965), or from the several-volume series “Dokumente të shekullit XV për historinë e Shqipërisë” (“Documents from the 15th century for the history of Albania”) (1967-1979); the series “Dokumente të shekullit XVI–XVII për historinë e Shqipërisë” (“Documents from the 16th–17th century for the history of Albania”) (1989-1990). The documentary publications of Injac Zmputi bring a valuable contribution to the study of various problems of the history of the Albanian people in the XV, XVI and XVII centuries. He was also involved in literary creativity. He published the volumes of novels “Zemra njerëzish” (“People’s hearts”) (1940), “Atje, nën hijen e Rozafës”( “There, under the shadow of Rozafa”) (1944), as well as left in manuscript several dramas and stories with historical themes. As a literature researcher, he published the books “Fishta: koha, njeriu, vepra” (“Fishta: time, man, work”) and “Ekskursion në dy vepra të Kadaresë” (“Excursion into two works of Kadare”) (1993). He passed away in Tivoli (Italy) in 1998 and was buried in Tirana. He was decorated with the “Distinguished employee of science and technology” order. (In the photo: Injac Zamputi)
