Sotiraq Çili was born in Korçë, a successful actor of the “Andon Zako Çajupi” theater in Korçë and of the Albanian cinematography. He studied acting at the Higher Institute of Arts and for many years was an actor of the “Andon Zako Çajupi” theater in Korça, an institution with which he also contributed to the history of Korça theater. But he is better known in cinematography and active in many Albanian films. He started with the role of a German officer in the film “Prita” (“The ambush”) (1968) and then we can mention, “Montatorja” (“The assembler”) (1970) – the construction brigadier, “Flamur në dallgë” (“Flag in the wave”) (1977) – Colonel Karar, “Një udhëtim i vështirë” (“A difficult journey”) (1977), “Hetimi vazhdon” (“The investigation continues”) (1977), “Tomka dhe shokët e tij” (“Tomka and his friends”) (1977) – Tomorri, “Gjeneral gramafoni” (“The General Gramophone”) (1978), “Pas gjurmëve” (“Behid dhe tracks”) (1978) – Guri, “Përtej mureve të gurta” (“Beyond the stone walls”) (1979), “Karnavalet” (“The Carnivals”) (1979), “Kronikë e një nate” (“Chronicle of a night”)(1990) – Nikolaj, etc. Sotiraq Çili has had a simple interpretive game with a naturalness that aims to reveal the organic behavior of the characters, although in moments of turmoil and resentments.
