In 1968-1972, he completed his higher studies at the Higher Institute of Arts in the theory-composition branch, in the class of the composer Çesk Zadeja. During these years, he created and directed the orchestral formation at Radio Tirana, which accompanied the songs of music surveys. In 1970, he started working as a music editor at Radio Television, and at the same time, a composer at the State Estrada. He took part in the IX song festival on Albanian Radio Television with the song “Shoqja e bankës” (“The desk’s friend”) (1970). At the XI festival, he competed with the song “Vajza dhe kompozitori” (“The girl and the composer”) (1972) and was simultaneously the conductor of the orchestra. In 1980, he was appointed composer at the Variety Theatre of Tirana, where he worked until 2000. He stood out for his individuality, inspired melody, the natural harmony of poetry with music, and rich and diverse themes. Aleksandër Lalo has several creations, such as in the films “Dimri i fundit” (“The last winter”) (1976), “Tomka dhe shokët e tij” (“Tomka and his friends”) (1977), “Vajzat me kordele të kuqe” (“The girls with red ribbons”) (1978), “Emblema e dikurshme”(“The former emblem”) (1979). The creativity in this genre was characterized by the clarity of the artistic image and the emotional breakdown of the most important moments of the subject, from which the portrayals of characters and descriptions of events are presented in full accordance with the film’s dramaturgy.
