Jak Gardini, a Catholic cleric, passed away. He was born in Friuli, Prodolone di San Vito Tagliamento, in the province of Pordenone (Italy), in 1905. At the age of eighteen, he entered the Society of Jesus (November 12, 1923). After his years of philosophical training, he went to Kierre to follow a three-year philosophy course. Starting in 1930, he spent several years as a teacher in Albania. He was ordained a priest on July 15, 1936, in Kierre. The third year of his novitiate (1937–1938) was completed in Pare le Monial, France. Later, he was assigned as a teacher at the College of St. Francis Xavier and at the Papal Seminary in Shkodër. He was arrested in 1945 and sentenced to 10 years in prison. After serving his sentence, he returned to Italy in 1955. With the overthrow of the communist regime, he returned to Shkodër to live and work.
