Jocelyn Percy, a senior English soldier known for his role in the organization and training of the Albanian gendarmerie, passed away. He was born in 1871 and arrived in Albania on September 29, 1926, to succeed Colonel Stirling as the inspector and general organizer of the gendarmerie. With extensive experience gained from working in English colonies, Percy implemented a service requirement of 4-5 years for conscript gendarmes and contributed to the reorganization of the gendarmerie, striving to instill respect for the law and improve law enforcement practices. Despite his efforts, he was unable to curtail corruption within the gendarmerie. Percy resigned and left Albania before 1938, without completing his contract. (In the photo: Joselin Persi)
