Marie Shllaku, activist of the anti-communist movement, was born in Shkodër. She completed primary and secondary education in his hometown. She began her philosophy studies at the University of Rome in 1941, but stopped for economic reasons. After returning to her homeland, she worked in Tirana in the cabinet of the Minister of the Pro-Italian Government, Ilaz Agushi. She was legally committed to the realization of the project of the national union of Albanians. She was also connected with the English Mission in Albania. In February 1943, she was appointed a clerk in the branch of the Ministry of Finance in Prizren, while for a short time she also served in the Ministry of Internal Affairs. During her stay in Kosovo, she established connections with prominent personalities of the anti-communist resistance movement, the Albanian National Democratic Movement (LNDSH) and the “Besa Kombëtare” (“National Pledge”). She participated in the leading structures of the Second League of Prizren and the Albanian National-Democratic Movement. In the battle of Siceva on September 12, 1945, she was wounded, but did not surrender and continued the fight against Yugoslav military units. She was later arrested. After many tortures and sufferings in prisons, in a judicial process in the Court of Prizren, she was sentenced to death and shot in Prizren, in 1946. Her grave is unknown.
