Niko Qafëzezi, agronomist, docent, was born in Korça. He graduated from the National Lyceum (French) in his hometown. He attended higher studies and graduated from the Faculty of Agronomy of the University of Perugia (1941). He started working at the Zootechnical Institute in Xhafzotaj and in the years 1942-1944 he was chief inspector in the Inspectorate of Agriculture in Prishtina. After the liberation, he worked in Korça and then in the Ministry of Agriculture. In 1952, he was appointed lecturer in charge of the Department of Phytotechnics at the Higher Agricultural Institute, where he served until he retired. He published the texts “Kultivimi i bimëve” (“Cultivation of plants”)(1957) and the books “Fjalor i bujqësisë – shqip, latinisht, italisht, rusisht” (“Dictionary of agriculture – Albanian, Latin, Italian, Russian”)(1978), etc., as well as a number of popularizing articles in the press of the time.
