The first Albanian feature film “Tana” was made in Tirana. It was produced by Albania Film (then “Shqipëria e Re” Kinostudio). The film “Tana” was directed by Kristaq Dhamos; screenplay by Kristaq Dhamos, Fatmir Djata and Nasho Jorgaq; with music by Cesk Zadeja. The subject of the film, with a theme from the social life of the village, is based on the novel of the same title. The events take place in the 50s of the XX century. At the center of the film is Tana, a smart and forward-thinking girl. She falls in love with Stefan, who lives in a poor mountain village. Tana faces her grandfather’s old mentality as well as Lefter’s jealousy. It’s a love game to progress. This is where the first kiss in Albanian films took place. (In the photo: “Tana” movie file)
