In Tirana, Melpomeni Çobani, variety actress, People’s Artist, passed away. She was born in Tirana in 1928. In 1945 she joined the amateur theater group of Tirana. In 1949, she was admitted to the People’s Theatre, where she mainly played comic roles, such as Hajrija in Besim Levonja’s “Prefekti“ (“The prefect”), etc. In 1955, she became an actress at the State Theater, where she worked for about 30 years and performed over 600 different characters in the short genres of humor and satire.
