Xhezair Dafa was born in Borsh, a director of documentary and artistic films. After graduating from the Higher School of Acting “Aleksandër Moisiu” (1965), he was appointed as an assistant director at the former Kinostudio “Shqipëria e Re.” In 1970, he made his first documentary film “Kujdes,” which features elements of artistic film as well as humorous details. In the following years, Xhezair Dafa shot another 24 documentaries. His first artistic film is “Odiseja e tifozëve” (1972), a short comedy with a screenplay by S. Plasari. He later directed three more artistic films: “Udhëtim i vështirë” (1977, S: B. Hoxha, H. Rama, co-director P. Llanaj), “Këshilltarët” (1979, S: K. Gjonaj), and “Itendenti” (1980, S: S. Godo). For several years, Xhezair Dafa worked in the State Film Archive in the sector of enriching with recordings of events and contemporary figures. He passed away in 2020.
