Skender Plasari, actor, librettist, screenwriter, was born in Tirana. He completed his higher studies at the Institute of Physical Culture in 1963. After achieving success in sports, becoming a national champion multiple times in wrestling, gymnastics, boxing, and athletics, for which he received the highest titles, from “Deserved Master” to “Honor of Albanian Sport,” he dedicated himself to the art of stage and screen. He began as a performer and writer of various sketches for variety shows and later continued as an actor, librettist, and screenwriter. From 1959 to 1979, he worked as an actor and acrobat in the Professional Estrada Theater in Tirana. In 1979, he started teaching at the Institute of Physical Education and later moved to the Higher Institute of Arts (today the Academy of Arts), where he taught plastic movements and pantomime. At the same time, he performed character roles in Albanian feature films. His most notable creative success remains the screenplay for Albania’s first film comedy Kapedani (1972), which was a sensational success with many viewers. (In the photo: Skënder Plasari)
