In the village of Marec in Prishtina, Basri Canolli was born, a fighter of the Kosova Liberation Army, Hero of Kosova. In 1997, together with his brothers, he went to Montenegro, where he managed to secure weapons for the needs of the Kosova Liberation Army. That same year, he joined the units of the Kosova Liberation Army, where he was assigned military duties in the operational areas of Llapi and Karadak. In June 1998, he moved to the Operational Area of Drenica and then to the Karadak Area, where he was assigned to the vanguard unit of Brigade 153. On June 16, he participated in the protection of the civilian population in the villages of Kamenica, which were attacked by the Serbian gangs. In 1999, he fell into a direct confrontation with Serbian forces in the village of Lashtar in Kamenica. In 2012, he was decorated with the “Hero of Kosova” order. (In the photo: Basri Canolli)
