In Shkodër, Father Dioniz Makaj, a Catholic cleric, passed away. He was born in Shkodër in 1910. He completed his primary and secondary education at the Franciscan College in Shkodër, while his higher education was in Rome. On July 15, 1936, he was ordained a priest and returned to Shkodër, where he was assigned the duty of parish priest of Nikaj-Mërturi. He was arrested on February 2, 1945. He was released in 1953, after serving his full sentence. From July 15, 1956, until March 19, 1967, he served as a parish priest in Iballë, Pukë. After the closure of churches until 1991, he lived near his nephew, Pal Makaj, in Shkodër. He was buried on January 1, 2005, at the church of Zojës Rruzare in Arra e Madhe, Shkodër.
