In Symizë of Fratari (Mallakastër), Gjokë Doçi, participant of the National Liberation Anti-Fascist War, Hero of the People, was killed fighting with the Nazi forces. He was born in Lure of Dibra, in 1922. From a young age he worked as a mechanical worker in Elbasan, where he came into contact with communist ideas and became their propagandist. With the establishment of the Albanian Communist Party, he participated in anti-fascist activities. Partisan in Dumre’s detachment and then its deputy commissioner (1943). Member of the Albanian Communist Party in the spring of 1943. With the creation of the 1st Assault Brigade, he was appointed commander of its 4th battalion. He took part in many battles. He fell fighting with the Nazi forces in 1943 . (In the photo: Gjokë Doçi)
