Hysen Pelinku

Hysen Pelinku, singer, Merited Artist, passed away. He was born in Shkodër, in 1921. In 1941-1942, he studied singing at the “Rossini” conservatory in Pesaro (Italy). He participated in the Anti-Fascist National Liberation War. Singer in the Albanian Philharmonic Orchestra since its foundation and then in the Theater of Opera and Ballet, where he played the main role of Miller in the opera “Rusalka”, the first opera staged in Albania. He played leading roles in the operas “Traviata”, “The Barber of Seville”, “Karmen”, “Bohema”, “Mrika“, etc. He has participated in various concerts abroad (Poland, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, China, etc.). He had a warm voice, seductive timbre, rhythmic compactness and scenic charm. He was also known as a performer of Albanian folk songs. (In the photo: Hysen Pelinku)
