Ligoraq Riza was born in the village of Bulgarec in Korçë, an actor. He completed his secondary education at the “Raqi Qeranxhi” high school in Korçë in 1969. He graduated as an actor from the Higher Institute of Arts (1973). Until 1975, he worked as an actor at the Gjirokastër Theater. From 1976 to 1988, he was an actor at the Pogradec Estrada, and later at the “A. Z. Çajupi” Theater in Korçë. Alongside his work as an actor, in 2001, he was appointed director of the Puppet Theater in Korçë. In his career as an actor, he has played over 220 roles in theater performances (drama, comedy), in variety shows (comedy, sketches, parodies, couplets, pantomime), in film and television, and in poetic theater, etc. At the National Theater Festival in Tirana, he received the “Aleksandër Moisiu” award for his role as Piçëmi in “Opera for Two Cents” by Bertolt Brecht (2003), while in 2002, he won the “Xinxifillo” award for best directing at the International Puppet Theater Festival in Pogradec. He has recited verses from Albanian and foreign poetry at various concerts and on Radio Televizion Korça. As the director of the Puppet Theater, he has staged 8 premieres. His acting is distinguished by simplicity, devoid of ostentation or a desire to impose, characterized by a genuine emotion, without effort, aiming for that characteristic and unique charm that gives his characters a distinctive physiognomy.
