Lutfi Hoxha, a Merited Artist and actor, was born in Durrës. He completed his studies at the “Jordan Misja” artistic high school in Tirana. He became a professional actor at the “Aleksandër Moisiu” theater in Durrës, following a long career in the amateur theater movement in his hometown. Hoxha’s mosaic of roles encompassed a wide variety of characters from different social backgrounds, each with their own distinct tendencies and traits. He gained particular popularity for portraying kind-hearted old men, bullies, babblers with sharp wits, comforters to the despair of young lovers, and advisors, who often conveyed moral and life lessons derived from their experiences. Additionally, he took on many roles with negative traits, such as cunning or peculiar individuals, drunkards, or downtrodden people. His acting was distinguished by his inner confidence and calmness in delivering dialogue during key moments, his stage presence, and his ability to highlight the most essential aspects of an action, gesture, response, or situation, without resorting to exaggerated displays. In addition to his theater work, Hoxha also played 12 roles in films, generally embodying the same types of characters. He is especially remembered for his portrayal of the father in the film “Shoku Ynё Tili” (Our Friend Tili) (1981). (In the photo: Lutfi Hoxha)
