Menhend Dervishaj, fighter of the Kosovo Liberation Army, martyr, was born in Zabllaç of Istog. In May 1998, he joined the ranks of the Kosovo Liberation Army in the Operational Zone of Dukagjin, in Gllogjan. He took part in the fighting on the front lines in Voksh, then in Junik, Gjocaj, Jasiq, Smolicë, Gllogjan and other villages of the municipality of Deçan and Gjakova. After the September 1998 offensive, for several months he operated in the Rugova region, where he contributed to the establishment of the 136th Brigade of the Dukagjin Operative Zone. He was engaged in the war of the Liberation Army of Kosovo in the region of Istog and for the formation of Brigade 133 “Adrian Krasniqi”, which operated in the Pejë-Klinë-Istog triangle. He was the deputy commander of the special unit of Brigade 133 “Adrian Krasniqi”. He was martyred in the fighting in Osdrim of Peja, in 1999. (In the photo: Menhend Dervishaj)
