Saimir Kumbaro, a director and actor, was born in Tirana. He graduated from the Higher Institute of Arts in 1969, majoring in drama. He began his career working in a film studio as an assistant director while also being active as an actor in various films. Following the successful filming of several documentaries, he was entrusted with directing the two-part feature film “Streets That Seek the Sun” (Rrugicat që kërkonin diell) in 1975, a film noted for its dynamic and emotional mass scenes. In the subsequent years, he focused on television documentaries, including a notable series of over 100 films titled “Heroes of Albania”, (Heronjtё e Shqipёrisё) produced between 2000 and 2004. This series successfully traces the lives of individuals from various fields of Albanian life with unique destinies.
