Yllka Mujo

Yllka Mujo, actress, Merited Artist, was born in Tirana. Attended the “Jordan Misja” Artistic Lyceum for singing. She continued her studies as an actress at the High Institute of Arts, where she graduated in 1974. In the same year, she started working at the People’s Theater, where she performed dozens of roles, including: Luiza in Friedrich Schiller’s “Luiza Miller” (1979), Sheila in John Priestley’s “Inspector’s Visit” (1981), Maria in “Twelfth Night” (1984) and Katerina in Shakespeare’s “The Taming of the Shrew” (1988), the deputy director in Ismail Kadare’s “Night with the Moon” (1990) , Mrs. Smith in “The Bald Singer” by Eugene Jones (1994), “The Seagull” by Anton Chekhov (2003) etc. She has performed in the films: “I teti në bronz” (“Eighth in bronze”), “Malet me blerim mbuluar” (“Mountains covered in greenery”), “Zonja nga qyteti” (“Madam from the city”), “Taulanti kërkon një motër” (“Taulanti asks for a sister”), etc. She is an actress with temperament, she easily moves from characters with trauma and internal experiences, to free comic characters, to parodies and grotesques. In 1995, she won the “Aleksandër Moisiu” award as the best actress of the National Theater Festival for the role of Julia in the play “Fernando Krapp wrote me this letter” by Dorsti.
