Father Mati Prenushi, martyr of the Catholic Church, was shot in Shkodër. He was born in Shkodër. Studied philosophy in Schwaz and theology in Caldaro, Italy and Graz, Austria. He was ordained a priest in Shkodër on March 25, 1904. He was a parish priest in Tuz, Kastrat, and Trabohin, Guardian of Gjuhadol, Provincial Vicar, parish priest in Laç, Iballë, Gomsiqe, and Bërdicë and then Provincial Vicar. From 1941 to 1943, he worked in Tirana. He was arrested and imprisoned in Shkodër on November 15, 1946, and was sentenced to death on January 8, 1948. (In the photo: Father Mati Prenushi)
