Dom Ndoc Suma, a martyr of the Catholic Church, was born in Sumë of Nënshati (Shkodër). He attended the Albanian Pontifical Seminary until his second year of theology. He completed his last two years at the Canisianum College of the Jesuits in Innsbruck, Austria. He was ordained a priest in Shkodër on September 21, 1911. He served as a parish priest in Koman, Kçirë, Nënshat, Naraç, in Laç of Vau i Dejës, Pistull, and Plezhë. He was arrested in Laç of Vau i Dejës and imprisoned in Shkodër on December 8, 1946. He was sentenced to 30 years of imprisonment and forced labor on December 16, 1946. After falling seriously ill, he was released on November 25, 1954. He passed away in Pistull of Shkodër in 1958.
