Hilë Mosi

On April 22, 1885, Hilë Mosi (1885-1933) was born in Shkodër, poet, journalist, writer, translator, deputy, prefect, minister of education, general director of Security. In the years 1904–1908 he completed a school for teachers in Klagenfurt (Austria). He was a participant of the Congress of Manastir (1909) and an active member of the Northern Highlands Uprising Committee (1909–1912); fought with arms in hand, founded patriotic societies and clubs, directed several organs, such as “Shqipëtari” (Istanbul, 1909-1910), “Shqypnija e re” (Shkodër, 1913-1914), “Agimi” (Shkodër, 1919), etc. ., being distinguished by the propaganda activity in favor of the national issue and the progress of the country. His first writings and poems became popular in 1910 under the pseudonyms Zog Sokoli, Liriasi, etc. He has published several poetry collections, including “Zani i atdheut” (“The voice of the homeland”) (1913), “Lotët e dashtunisë” (“The tears of love”) (1915), etc. (In the photo: Hilë Mosi )
