Mensur Zyberaj, a fighter of the Kosovo Liberation Army, Hero of Kosovo, was born in Drenoc in Rahovec. He attended high school in Rahovec, the Faculty of Economics at the University of Pristina, in 1985. During his studies, he was active in protests and demonstrations organized by students. For this reason, in 1990 he was arrested by the Serbian police. In September 1996, he became a member of the Kosovo Liberation Army. He became the central figure of the expansion and organization of the Kosovo Liberation Army in the Anadrinia region, which later served as the core of the creation of the Pashtrik Operational Zone. With fellow fighters, he carried out the first operational attack of the Kosovo Liberation Army in the Anadrinia region and the Prizren district, on the Serbian police station in Ratkoc, Rahovec. This attack was a synchronized part of a strategic operation of the Kosovo Liberation Army in several centers of Kosovo, carried out at the same time and with the same goal. He was killed in 1999 during the fighting with Serbian forces. In 2013, he was decorated by the president of the Republic of Kosovo with the “Hero of Kosovo” Order. (In the photo: Mensur Zyberaj)
