Prokop Mima, actor, Merited Artist, was born in Durrës. He completed high school in his hometown. He portrayed the character of Rozhe de Bervil in the comedy “Topazi” by Marcel Pagnol during the inaugural performance of the State Theater on May 25, 1945. He has performed in over 80 roles in theater and 4 in cinema. Known for his satirical acting, his performance was acclaimed for his portrayal of striking and original characters. His memorable voice, clear pronunciation, and expressive gestures served to elegantly convey the characters to the audience. Among his notable roles are Zbisheku in Gabriela Zapolska’s comedy “Morali i zonjës Dulska” (1958) and Xhivola in Bertold Brecht’s “Arturo Ui” (1971), the postmaster in “Revizori” (The Inspector) (Nikolai Gogol), Vurmi in “Intrigë e dashuri” (Intrigues and Love) (Friedrich Schiller), Adhamudhi in “Pas vdekjes” (After Death) (Çajupi), Don Marku in “Cuca e maleve” (Girl of mountains) (Loni Papa), the lieutenant general in “Gjenerali i ushtrisë së vdekur” (The General of the Dead Army) (based on the novel by Ismail Kadare), etc. He was also a teaching instructor for artistic speech at the Institute of Fine Arts and a talented reciter of Albanian poetry.
