Zonja Çurre, a participant in the National Liberation Anti-Fascist War and a Heroine of the People, was killed in battle in Qafëshkallë, Klos (Mat). She was born in Tragjas, Vlorë, in 1920. She actively participated in the National Liberation Anti-Fascist Movement and was responsible for organizing the youth in Tragjas to join the war effort. She fought alongside partisan units and later in Assault Brigade V, facing the challenges of war. As a squad leader and later as a company commander, she showed bravery and courage, especially during the overall enemy offensive in the winter of 1943–1944. She was killed in action in 1944.
