Ilia Dashi, sailor of the Navy, Hero of the People, passed away in Durrës. He was born in the village of Poro in Vlora, in 1956. During the mutiny of the service in the Fleet, happening at his combat post, he jumped into the flames and sacrificed himself to save the ship “Sami Frashëri” and his friends from the fire.
