Misto Mame, a participant in the Anti-Fascist National Liberation War and one of the first leaders and organizers of the Communist Youth, was a Hero of the People who was killed in an effort against the fascists in Tirana. He was born in Erind of Lunxheria (Gjirokastër) in 1921. He worked as a laborer in Gjirokastër and later in Tirana, where he engaged in extensive activities to spread anti-fascist ideas. He was a member of the Albanian Communist Party immediately after its establishment and a member of the Regional Committee of the Albanian Communist Party for Tirana. At the meeting for the establishment of the Albanian Communist Youth organization, he was elected a member of its Regional Committee. As the commander of a guerilla unit, he successfully carried out a series of daring actions and assassinations against the fascist invaders, such as the burning of the military warehouse near the capital.
