Zahir Pajaziti, one of the founders of the Kosovo Liberation Army, Hero of Kosovo, was born in the village of Turukicë in the municipality of Podujeva. He completed primary and secondary education in Orllan, then enrolled in the police school in Vushtrri, but was expelled after a year as politically unsuitable. In 1981, he enrolled in the department of English language and literature at the Faculty of Philology of the University of Pristina. That same year, he participated in the demonstrations in Podujevë. Then he continued his illegal activity. In the early 90s of the XX century, he was active in the organization of the Youth Parliament, forming the branch of this subject in Orllan. He was also active in the blood reconciliation action. In 1991, Zahir Pajaziti went to Albania for military training. Contributed to the supply of weapons to the military cells created in the surroundings of Orllani. He crossed the border of Albania many times, during the years 1994-1997. During these years, he worked on the expansion of new associates inside and outside the Llapi area. In 1996, he carried out many coordinated military actions in the entire territory of Kosovo. A few days after returning from Albania, he was killed in Pestovë near Vushtrri, in an ambush organized by the Serbian police in 1997. On January 31, 2008, on the 11th anniversary of the fall, the president of Kosovo granted him the order “Hero of Kosovo”. (In the photo: Zahir Pajaziti)
