Croatian linguist, albanologist and balkanologist Henrik Bariç was born. He is one of the foreign researchers of the history of the Albanian language. For several years in a row, he published the scientific journal “Archive of Albanian Antiquity, Language and Ethnology”. He is the author of several works: “Albanorumanische Studien” (“Romanian-Albanian Studies”, Sarajevo, 1919); “Iliriske jiščne stidije” (“Illyrian linguistic studies”, Zagreb, 1948); ” Poreklo Arbanaša u zvetlu jezika ” (“The origin of Albanians in the light of language”, Sarajevo, 1954). Undertook a Serbo-Croatian-Albanian dictionary, of which only the first part was published: “Rečnik srpskoga ili hrvatskoga i arbanskoba jezika”, Zagreb, 1950. In his etymological studies, Henrik Bariç added the Indo-European fund of Albanian and treated some phonetic phenomena of its history.
