Xhemal Myftiu was born in Tirana, a comedy actor. He became active early in the amateur theater movement of his hometown, particularly in the ensemble of the “Ali Kelmendi” Palace of Culture since 1956. His natural talent as a comic actor, along with his stage presence, his characteristic slightly hoarse voice, spontaneity in action, expressive gestures, and facial expressions, enabled him to portray types and characters from the rural areas of the Tirana region and, more generally, those of Central Albania. The charm of his plastic and pantomimic movements became the necessary prerequisites and guarantees for him to be accepted as a professional actor in the State Estrada in 1964. Over more than 50 years of artistic experience, he created a gallery of comic figures on the stage of this ensemble, ranging from short plays to various genres of estrada theater and up to one-act and multi-act comedies.
