Bernard Llupi

Bernard Llupi, Catholic clergyman, was born in Shkodër. He completed his elementary school at the Franciscan school in the city, his high school in Graz and Innsbruck, Austria. He said his first mass in Rome. Then he began his duties as a parish priest, first in Nikaj-Mërtur, then in Hot, Biza and Vlorë. In the years 1914-1916, he participated in the battles against the Montenegrins, especially in the Kolchi Pass. Between 1931-1937 he served as a parish priest in Iballe in Puka, in Palç, in Rapshë and in Vlorë. In 1941 he was sent to Peja, where in 1946 he was arrested by the UDB. After much torture, he was shot that same year. (In the photo: Bernard Llupi)
