Dom Ejëll Deda, diocesan priest, was born in Shkodër. He completed primary school at the Franciscans, and secondary school at the city’s Pontifical Seminary. He was ordained a priest on February 24, 1943, in the Jesuit church in Shkodër, where he celebrated the First Mass the next day. He served as a parish priest in the village of Bushat. He was arrested on November 12, 1947, and on November 27 of the same year, the Shkodra Military Court declared him guilty of “criminal offenses against the people and the state” and sentenced him to ten years in prison and forced labor.
