Zyhdi Morava, writer, poet, intellectual, was born in Gracë of Devoll. He was interned from Tirana to the village of Yrshek, for political reasons. He was arrested on March 3, 1978, and by decision no. 282, dated July 4, 1978, the District Court of Tirana declared him guilty of “agitation and propaganda against people’s power” and sentenced him to 8 years of imprisonment. He served his sentence in Spaç. By decree no. 6656 of the Presidium of the People’s Assembly, dated October 28, 1982, the remainder of the sentence was forgiven. Between 1982–1991 he was forced to work as a construction worker, a loading-unloading worker, an agricultural farm worker and a night watchman at a horse stable. 2005 he was elected president of the League of Writers and Artists. He passed away in Tirana, in 2010. (In the photo: Zyhdi Morava)
