Dhimitër Tutulani passed away. He was born in Berat. He graduated from the “Zosimea” high school in Ioannina and continued his law studies in Athens. After finishing school, he returned to Berat, where he worked as a lawyer. There, he helped the patriotic movement, becoming a collaborator with activists and national ideals. In November 1912, he was elected a delegate of Berat in the Assembly of Vlora (1912), where he signed the Act of National Independence, with the initials “Dh. Tout.”. In December 1918, he was a delegate to the Congress of Durrës, while approximately two years later, he participated as a delegate to the Congress of Lushnja (1920). In the 1920s, he supported Fan Noli’s policy and in 1925, he was elected mayor of Berat. He also formed the Albanian Autocephalous Church, which emerged from the Congress of Berat (1922). In his will, he wrote that he bequeathed a part of his wealth to the city for schools, roads, welfare, etc. (In the photo: Dhimitër Tutulani)
