In Bucharest, Romania, the “Shkolla Normale Shqipe” (Normal Albanian School) was founded, a secondary educational institution with a pedagogical profile, founded by the initiative of the “Drita” society of Bucharest and mainly by its president, Nikola Naço. Followed by Albanian exiles, as well as by Romanians, boarding students and outsiders. Lessons were given in Albanian and Romanian. Among the students of this school are mentioned the luminaries Mihal Grameno, Aleksandër Stavre Drenova (Asdreni), Dervish Hima, Shahin Kolonja, Jashar Erebara, etc. Albanian works published by the Albanian printing house in Bucharest were also used as textbooks, such as the book “Leçitja shqipe” (1887) by Jovani Risto Llazit Terova and ” Gramatika e gjuhës shqipe ” (“Gramatical limbii Albanian”), which was specially prepared for this school by the Romanian philologist Bogdan Hazdeu.
