Misto Mame, participant of the National Liberation Anti-Fascist War, one of the first leaders and organizers of the Communist Youth, Hero of the People, was born in Erind of Lunxheria (Gjirokastër). He worked as a laborer in Gjirokastër and then in Tirana, where he developed extensive activities for the spread of anti-fascist ideas. Member of the Albanian Communist Party immediately after its establishment, member of the District Committee of the Albanian Communist Party for Tirana. At the meeting for the establishment of the Albanian Communist Youth organization, he was elected a member of its District Committee. Commander of the guerilla unit, he successfully carried out a series of daring actions and assassinations against the fascist invaders, such as the burning of the military genio warehouse near the capital.
