Nikollë Mini

Monsignor Nikollë Mini, head of the Catholic Church, was born in Ferizaj. He completed his first lessons in his hometown and then continued them in Skopje. He continued his religious education at the Diocesan Seminary in Prizren, while his theological studies at the Pontifical Institute in Shkodër and completed them at the Faculty of Theology in Zagreb. He was ordained a priest in 1950, in Zagreb, while he held his first Mass in the Cathedral of Christ in Skopje. He served as a chaplain and was then appointed parish priest in Guci, then in Novoselë, then continued in Velezë and Prizren. For the needs of the Catholic clergy in the Albanian parishes, he has prepared various texts and prayer books. In 1962, he started publishing the religious and cultural magazine “Zani i Zojës Cernagore”, while in 1970 he published the first issue of the monthly magazine “Drita”. He also published the collection of church songs “Kantuali kishtar shqiptar” (1974). He passed away in 1992. (In the photo: Nikolle Mini)
