Nikol Gjinaj, Catholic priest, died in prison. He was born in 1910, in Mgullë, Shkodër. He studied philosophy and theology in Rome. Until 1951 he served as a priest in Suma (Shkodër). On December 13, 1952, the Military Court of Shkodra sentenced him for “treason against the nation”, with 20 years in prison and the loss of electoral rights for 5 years. He was arrested again on October 15, 1979. On December 21, 1979, the Court of Shkodra re-sentenced him for “agitation and propaganda” to 10 years in prison. (In the photo: Dom Nikoll Gjinaj)
