Zaho Koka

He fell fighting against the German Nazis in his native village, Zaho Koka, a participant of the Anti-Fascist National Liberation War, Hero of the People. He was born in Vuno of Himara. Embraced the ideas and line of the Albanian Communist Party; became one of the pioneers of the Anti-Fascist National Liberation Movement in the province of Himara. He objected to becoming a soldier and went to the partisan mountain (1942). At the head of the unit he commanded, he carried out several assassinations and daring actions. He developed extensive propaganda work for the mobilization of the people of the coast in the war, gaining sympathy and respect among his compatriots. Member of the Albanian Communist Party in June 1942. Deputy battalion commissar in the 5thAssault Brigade, performed many difficult political and combat tasks. (In the photo: Zaho Koka)
