Fahri Fazliu

In the “Kodra e Diellit” neighborhood in Pristina, after an armed resistance, Fahri Fazliu, activist of the movement for national liberation, Hero of Kosovo, was killed by Serbian forces. He was born in Llaushë in Podujeva, in 1963. He completed primary school in his hometown, while he completed secondary school in Pristina. He developed dense activity since the time of the popular demonstrations in the spring of 1981: he distributed tracts, illegal literature, helped illegal comrades and families of political prisoners, etc. After returning from military service, he started working at the “Prishtina” railway company. In 1984, due to political activity, he was arrested and sentenced to four years in prison. After being released from prison, he completed the upper studies in Communication in Zagreb and studied at the construction branch of the Technical Faculty of the University of Pristina. He was very active in the political turmoil of 1988-89. His activity was monitored by the Serbian secret service. He was surrounded in his apartment in Pristina, where he was killed. After the war, he was declared Hero of Kosovo. (In the photo: Fahri Fazliu)
