Sanie Hoti, an actress, was born in Durrës. She graduated from the Higher Institute of Arts in 1978 and began her career at the “A. Moisiu” Theater in Durrës. In 1984, she joined the city’s puppet theater troupe as an actress and later became a director in 2000. She has played numerous roles, particularly in comedies, where her sense of humor, ability to create distinctive characters, and artistic use of human flaws, imperfections, and shortcomings stood out. She also excelled in dramatic roles, showcasing emotional depth through her flexible and energetic performances. As a director, she won the first prize for the performance of Gjergj Vlashi’s ‘Anger of Buttons’ at the European Puppet Theater Festival in 2006. In 2002, she received the ‘Xinxifillo’ award for her role as the Fox at the Puppet Festival in Pogradec. (In the photo: Sanie Hoti)
