Andon Qesari, an esteemed actor, director, and teacher, was born in the village of Qeparo, Himarë. He graduated from the “7 Nëntori” Polytechnic High School in Tirana in 1959 and began his career at the Vlora Theater as both an actor and director, taking on several notable roles. In the academic year 1971-1972, he completed advanced studies in directing at the Higher Institute of Arts. Qesari was appointed as a teacher and director at the Higher Institute of Arts, a position he held from 1972 to 2008, primarily as an external lecturer. He also worked as an actor and director at the National Theatre from 1976 until his retirement in 2002. In addition to his performance work, he wrote numerous critical articles on Albanian theater, focusing on aesthetics, acting, directing, and portraits of artists. He also adapted various novellas and novels for the stage and radio. Andon Qesari passed away in 2021, leaving behind a significant legacy in the Albanian theater community.
